Early Mahogany Travler with Piezo Bridge
|
| Description |
This is a very early model Traveler guitar that was told was sent
to a prestigious dealer to open an account. It appears to be
handmade and was likely one of the first models of its kind. It is
in virtually new condition with a gig bag case. The neck is
perfectly straight and set up and it shows no signs of wear or being
played. The magnetic pickup has a dark purple anodized tone ring,
and the saddle pickup appears to be a Fishman Matrix. The controls
are tone and volume with a second tone switch and a switch on the
body that selects between the magnetic and the piezo pickups. There
are no markings or serial numbers on this other than the brand, and
it was sent directly from the founder of Traveler to Fine Guitar
Consultants as a demonstration instrument, and then sold to me.
Both the control cavity and single coil pickup were shielded
with copper shielding tape, upgraded the coupling wire to a smaller
Mogami wire, and a professional fret dress and setup was
recently done. This guitar plays and sounds great and likely has a
fair amount of collector value. |
